Five new stations set to link Greater Noida West with Noida's metro network.
Enquire NowGreater Noida West is finally set to get its long-awaited metro connection. The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) is planning a 7.5-km extension of the Aqua Line — from Sector 51, Noida to Kisan Chowk (Sector 4, Greater Noida West), a move that will directly connect over 5 lakh residents of Greater Noida West societies who currently have no metro access.
The extension will add five new stations along the corridor: Sector 61, Sector 70, Sector 122, Sector 123, and Greater Noida Sector 4 near Kisan Chowk. NMRC officials have confirmed that the alignment will run separately from the RRTS corridor but will connect to the proposed Ghaziabad-Jewar Airport RRTS network, creating a seamless travel loop across Noida, Greater Noida, and the upcoming Jewar Airport. This linkage would allow Greater Noida West residents to reach Jewar Airport via a metro-to-RRTS interchange, effectively creating one of the first end-to-end public transit routes from a major residential township to an international airport.
The project carries an estimated cost of around Rs 1,000-1,500 crore and will be jointly funded by the Central Government, the Uttar Pradesh Government, and the Noida and Greater Noida authorities. NMRC Managing Director Krishna Karunesh has indicated that construction will begin once the Public Investment Board (PIB) grants approval, with the build taking approximately two years to complete. That puts realistic metro access for Greater Noida West residents in the 2028-2029 window.
This is part of a larger expansion plan for the Aqua Line. Beyond the Sector 4 stretch, NMRC's broader roadmap includes a 17.435-km, 11-station extension connecting Sector 51 all the way to Knowledge Park V in Greater Noida, of which the Greater Noida West-focused segment is the most immediate priority for residents of the area.
For homebuyers, the timing matters. Real estate observers note that metro proximity has historically commanded a price premium of 15-25% over comparable non-metro sectors within a 12-24 month window of station opening, citing past examples like Sector 51 in Noida, which saw a 22% price lift between 2017 and 2019 around the original Aqua Line's opening. Sectors closest to the proposed stations — particularly Sector 4/Gaur Chowk, along with catchments near Sector 123, 70, and 61 — are expected to see the earliest and strongest impact as construction progresses and becomes visible on the ground.
Industry voices tracking the Noida-Greater Noida corridor point out that improved metro access has historically widened the homebuyer base, particularly among families and working professionals who prioritise shorter, predictable commutes. That dynamic is expected to repeat itself in Greater Noida West once construction visibly kicks off, shifting buyer interest from purely rate-driven decisions to connectivity-first shortlisting.
For now, the project awaits PIB clearance before ground work can start, so the metro isn't operational yet — buyers should treat 2028-29 as an indicative, not confirmed, timeline. But the direction of travel is clear: Greater Noida West, long dependent on roads and last-mile options to reach Noida's metro network, is moving toward a genuine rail-based connection to the wider NCR. For homebuyers evaluating projects in Sector 1, Sector 4, Sector 10, or Sector 12 in this micro-market, the metro extension adds a fresh, tangible connectivity argument to the investment case — one that developers like SOBHA are already building their project positioning around.
