SOBHA Named Real Estate Developer of the Year 2025

SOBHA Limited has added another major accolade to its trophy cabinet. In 2025, the company's legacy of eminence was recognised at the Times Real Estate Conclave & Awards, where SOBHA was honoured as the Real Estate Developer of the Year – Residential. The recognition comes at a time when the Bengaluru-headquartered developer is pushing an aggressive expansion strategy across South India, including in Thrissur, one of its strongest Kerala markets.

The Times award is not an isolated win. In 2025, the company was also named the winner of the coveted Vishwakarma Award for the second year in a row, presented by CIDC, an organisation established by the Planning Commission of India in 1996. Most recently, the company secured 'Builder of the Year – Large' at the BAM Awards 2025, reinforcing its stature as one of the leading builders in India. Over the years, SOBHA has earned more than 245 awards, a track record industry watchers say reflects consistency rather than a one-off spike in recognition.

For homebuyers, awards are only meaningful when backed by transparent processes. The company emphasises honest communication and clear documentation throughout the customer journey, ensuring that every project's RERA registration is readily accessible on its website – providing assurance on timelines, approvals, and statutory disclosures. SOBHA Limited has proposed a residential development comprising 336 apartments, a recreational area, and amenity facilities in Edakkunni Village, Thrissur Municipal Corporation. The project spans 1.5691 hectares with a total built-up area of 1,23,143.49 sq.m and is currently under consideration for Environmental Clearance, with an estimated value of Rs 228.22 crore. This adds to SOBHA's existing Thrissur portfolio, which includes SOBHA Metropolis and SOBHA Silver Estate.

The Thrissur push is part of a much larger national rollout. Sobha Ltd has planned to roll out residential projects worth Rs 22,000 crore over the next 18 months across multiple Indian cities, including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Pune, Chennai, Calicut, Thrissur, and Thiruvananthapuram, covering a total of 16 million sq ft with an estimated sales potential of nearly Rs 22,000 crore. The company's financials support this expansion appetite: Sobha recorded a 61 per cent year-on-year surge in sales bookings to Rs 1,902.6 crore in Q2 of the current fiscal, compared with Rs 1,178.5 crore in the same period last year. Net profit nearly tripled to Rs 72.52 crore in Q2, up from Rs 26.08 crore a year earlier.

Kerala specifically continues to be a bright spot in SOBHA's business. Regions like Gurugram, Kochi, Thrissur and Pune have seen significant traction in demand sentiment and contributed healthy sales volumes in recent quarters, according to company disclosures. Infrastructure upgrades are reinforcing this momentum: strategic projects such as the Rs 393.57 crore redevelopment of Thrissur Railway Station, with enhanced concourses, lifts, and multilevel parking, are significantly improving connectivity and attracting residential investment in the city.

For prospective buyers, the combination of a national award and continued Thrissur investment sends a clear signal: SOBHA is not scaling back on quality-focused delivery even as it grows fast. Kerala buyers evaluating villas or apartments in Thrissur, or investors tracking SOBHA's broader India pipeline, now have added reassurance that the brand's execution record is being validated at an industry level, not just claimed in marketing material. As the new Edakkunni project moves through environmental clearance, more details on configurations, pricing, and RERA registration are expected in the coming months.
