Thane Metro Line 4 Progress Update

<p>The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has successfully completed the technical inspection and trial run of Phase 1 for the Thane-Wadala Metro Line 4. This milestone marks a turning point for Thane's connectivity and real estate landscape.</p>

<p>The priority section covers 4.4 km and four stations — Gaimukh, Govaniwada, Kasarvadavli, and Vijay Garden — and is set to open in December 2025. The entire Phase-1 stretch to Cadbury Junction will be operational by April 2026. This phased rollout brings metro connectivity to key Ghodbunder Road neighborhoods in stages, directly benefiting commuters and property investors.</p>

<p>Metro line 4 connects Wadala to Kasarvadavali across 32 km and is the largest segment of this elevated corridor. The metro line 4 completion date for the first section (Cadbury Junction to Gaimukh) is set for late 2025, with the full Wadala-Kasarvadavali route expected by August 2026. Once fully operational, this corridor will drastically reduce commute times for daily travelers.</p>

<p>According to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, the metro project will significantly reduce travel time from Thane to South Mumbai in less than 45 minutes. For professionals working in South Mumbai's financial districts and business parks, this represents a transformative shift from the current 90-minute commutes via bus or road.</p>

<p>Property prices within a 1 km radius of metro stations have seen a 15-20% jump in the last 2 years, and this is expected to increase further. Ghodbunder Road, already emerging as Thane's growth corridor, is positioned to see accelerated appreciation. The annual price appreciation in Thane is both remarkable and strong across the micro-markets and is the result of expanding infrastructure, improving metro connectivity, and an influx of working professionals.</p>

<p>Despite these temporary setbacks, the Ring Metro—integrating with existing lines like Metro 4 (Wadala–Kasarvadavali) and Metro 5 (Thane–Bhiwandi–Kalyan)—is viewed as the essential backbone for Thane's future mobility. The multi-line metro ecosystem under development positions Thane as Mumbai's next integrated transit hub, creating significant long-term value for real estate investors and residents alike.</p>
